The serious stuff

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you walk dogs in groups?

No. I specialise in one-to-one dog walks because every dog deserves my full attention. Solo walks are particularly beneficial for nervous, reactive, elderly or anxious dogs, or those who simply prefer their own space.

I have more than one dog, are you able to walk them together?

yes, of course – if they live together and enjoy each others company, then yes I can. Please get in touch.

What areas do you cover?

I provide dog walking, pet sitting and cat care throughout Islington and the surrounding areas.

Are you insured?

Yes. I am fully insured, Enhanced DBS checked and Pet First Aid qualified, giving you complete peace of mind while your pets are in my care.

What happens on our first meeting?

Before any booking, I’ll arrange a free meet and greet at your home. This gives us a chance to get to know one another, discuss your pet’s routine, personality, medical needs and any specific requirements. It also allows your pet to become familiar with me before their first visit.

Can you administer medication?

Yes, where appropriate and discussed during our meet and greet. Please let me know your pet’s requirements when booking.

What happens if my dog doesn’t want to walk?

Every dog has different needs. If your dog wants to stop, sniff, explore or simply take things slowly, that’s absolutely fine. My walks are led by your dog’s comfort rather than the clock.

Will I receive updates?

Yes. After each walk or visit, I’ll happily send you an update along with photos, so you know how your pet has been getting on.

Can you care for nervous or reactive dogs?

Absolutely. I understand that busy city life can feel overwhelming for some dogs. My calm, patient approach allows me to build trust at your dog’s pace, creating a positive and stress-free experience.

What do your cat visits include?

Each visit can include feeding, fresh water, litter tray cleaning, playtime, companionship, medication (if required) and, of course, plenty of affection if your cat enjoys it. For more independent cats, I’m equally happy to give them the space they prefer.

Do you look after puppies?

Yes. Puppies often benefit from shorter walks, toilet breaks, feeding and companionship throughout the day. Visits can be tailored around their age and routine.

Terms & Conditions

By booking any of my services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Meet & Greet

A complimentary meet and greet is required before any new booking. This allows me to get to know you and your pet, discuss routines, behaviour, medical needs and ensure we’re a good fit.

Vaccinations & Health

All dogs must be up to date with their routine vaccinations (or have veterinary guidance if vaccinations are not appropriate), flea and worm treatment.

Owners must inform me of any medical conditions, injuries, allergies or behavioural concerns before the first booking and keep me updated if anything changes.

Behaviour

Your pet’s safety is my priority.

Owners must disclose any history of aggression, biting, anxiety, reactivity or behavioural issues before booking. While every effort is made to provide safe and appropriate care, I reserve the right to refuse or end a service if I believe there is a risk to your pet, myself or others.

Solo Dog Walks

Dogs are walked on a one-to-one basis unless otherwise agreed.

Dogs will remain on a lead unless written permission has been given by the owner and I am confident it is safe to do so.

Home Access & Keys

Clients are responsible for providing safe access to their property.

Any keys, alarm codes or access information will be kept securely and treated as confidential.

Keys will never be labelled with your name or address.

Emergency Veterinary Care

If your pet becomes ill or is injured while in my care, I will make every reasonable effort to contact you.

If I cannot reach you and emergency treatment is required, I am authorised to seek veterinary care on your behalf.

Any veterinary fees remain the responsibility of the owner.

Medication

Medication can be administered where agreed in advance. Clear written instructions must be provided.

While every care is taken, I cannot be held responsible for complications arising from pre-existing medical conditions.

Home Visits

During home visits I will ensure your pet has fresh water, food (where requested), clean litter trays or toilet breaks, companionship and enrichment appropriate to their needs.

I will also carry out reasonable home security checks, such as closing windows, bringing in post or adjusting lights if previously agreed.

Cancellations

Please refer to the Cancellation Policy.

Payment

Payment is due by the agreed date, unless otherwise arranged.

Late payments may result in future bookings being declined until the account is settled.

Weather

Your pet’s welfare always comes first.

Walks may be shortened or adapted during periods of extreme heat, storms, icy conditions or other severe weather. Where appropriate, time may instead be spent providing enrichment, companionship or play at home.

Photos & Updates

I love sending updates and photos during visits and walks.

Photos of your pet will never be shared publicly without your permission.

Liability

Whilst every reasonable care is taken, pet ownership carries inherent risks.

I cannot accept responsibility for illness, injury, escape or loss resulting from undisclosed medical or behavioural conditions, inaccurate information provided by the owner, or circumstances beyond my reasonable control.

Right to Refuse Service

I reserve the right to refuse or terminate services if:

• A pet displays behaviour that presents an unacceptable safety risk.

• False or misleading information has been provided.

• Payment remains outstanding.

• Access to the property cannot be safely gained.

• Circumstances arise that compromise the welfare of your pet or my personal safety.

Commitment to Animal Welfare

My approach is based on kindness, patience and positive handling.

I do not use fear, intimidation or punishment-based methods. Every pet in my care will be treated with compassion, respect and understanding, allowing them to feel safe, relaxed and supported throughout our time together.
