How I started working as a pet sitter in Islington
Hi lovely pet parents, my name is Sheena and I’m a solo dog walker and pet sitter based in Islington, London.
I began dog walking and pet sitting last year after the passing of both my cats, Spartacus (15) and Lola (14), at different times. I loved them so much, they were a huge part of my life and their loss left a huge furry space in my heart and I wasn’t ready to live without animals in my life.
Spending time caring for other people’s pets felt like the most natural way forward.
What started as something healing quickly grew into something I really truly love and enjoy so much. Pet parents could see the genuine care I bring, the attention, patience, reliabilty and joy I have with their animals, and before long it became my full-time work.
What’s that old saying “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
Spending time with your beautiful pets sharing energy with them makes me so happy. I’m very intuitive to their needs, providing good guidance, happiness and love.
I love plants, animals, and being close to nature, and in central London that connection can feel limited. Caring for your pets brings that sense of nature back into my everyday life.
Getting to know your pets is something I really enjoy, getting to know what they like and what they don’t, providing good support for them. I can often sense or feel their energy and aim to be a confident leader for them, calming them down if they’re feeling anxious, being patient with them, having fun and cuddling with them when they’re feeling playful.
I’m always talking to them guiding them, praising them and just general chit chat, so they know my voice, which is something they love and often respond to well.
This is why I enjoy working with them one on one, so they each have the attention they deserve as all dogs and cats have their own individual needs.
I always feel so honoured when you chose me to look after your loving pets, as I know how difficult it is to find someone you trust to care for your animals.
