Cat Sitter Islington
Cat Sitter in Islington, Angel, Barnsbury, Clerkenwell, Kings Cross
As a cat sitter in Islington I absolutely love the energy that cats bring – the sassy ones, the shy ones, and all of those personalities in between. I understand that cats are mostly independent and stoic animals. I love that about them…when a cat enjoys being around me, I feel like I’ve earned their attention – it’s so humbling.
As much as cats are independent, they still thrive on human interaction, they’re just a bit more selective with who, when and how they interact.
I can usually tell straight away, if a cat wants to interact with me – and I’ll be honest, not all of them do and I know that’s when to give them the space they need. I’ll pop in, feed them change their litter and exist around them without being too intrusive. Then there are the snuggly cats, or playful cats that love to let their presence be known, greeting me at the door as soon as I enter their home, rubbing up against my legs waiting to be fed and played with.
Cats do not like change and when their regular humans aren’t there it can often be stressful for them, so I like to keep to their routine as best as I can, so that they’re happy.
The Cat Sitting Care I Provide
Write a clear and relevant header to keep your visitors engaged
I like to find out as much as possible about your feline family members so I can provide the best possible care for them whilst you’re away.
And these are some of the few things I’ve learned..
.
Your cats space
Cats are choice-driven. I always give them space to initiate contact, and let them leave situations freely. Giving them the freedom to control their space builds trust and reduces stress.
Cats nervous system
I provide routines, calm energy, slow movements, and quiet environments which help keep cats in a regulated state.
Cats don’t enjoy over stimulation
Enrichment is valuable, but so is rest. Cats need vertical space, hiding spots, and uninterrupted downtime to feel secure.
Respecting your cats needs
Some cats are social, others are solitary. Some love touch, others prefer space. There’s no “one size fits all” cat personality.
